Course objectives
Mathematics I (MATE) The objective of the subject is to introduce the student to the fundamental mathematical apparatus necessary for solution of economic problems, to prepare the grounds for teaching Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics. Moreover, the subject contributes to the development of logical thinking. The subject matter offers the principles of mathematical logic and theory of sets, from the field of linear algebra especially matrices, determinants and solution of linear equations systems, differential calculus of functions with a single variable with emphasis on characteristic of function. Exercises will also include using information technology for solving practical tasks. Credit requirements: active participation in seminars, passing score of the progress test during the semester. Examination: written and oral.
