Course objectives
Economy of Health Care (EKZD) This course has a specialising character. It is focused on the mission, function, and processes typical for these sectors, national-economic relationships of both governmental and communal policies. It offers a review of the structure of services and their economy, funding, and efficiency, institutional structure and management system, organization and management of institutions, legal regulation of the services and development trends. The aim is: a) to provide students with a comprehensive compendium of knowledge, which would enable its practical application to the specialisation and outline the extent and complexity of problems that must be faced by economists, which is a prerequisite for further growth of qualification after graduates start their career in practice; b) arouse a deep interest in further study of this highly topical and prospective economic discipline; c) exercise student's capability to apply methods of economic analysis to concrete examples and formulate one's own views of controversial issues of theory and practice (or support them by arguments). Requirements for an access to examination: 50% from two midterm tests Final grade: 10% activity in seminars, 30% 1st midterm, 30% 2nd midterm, 30% oral exam...
