Course objectives
The course will provide students with basic knowledge of the radio programming and its estetics. The idea of the workshop is based on the value of understanding radio as a structured, metaphorical medium with its own language. During the course students are going to find about the basics of radio programming, structuring the schedule, they are also going to learn how to write a radio script and do their own radio show. Reflection of the contemporary radio media in this country and abroad is emphasised. As an output of the course students will write their own radio project (script), possible to be broadcasted. (Radio R).
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction / Radio particularity. Practical: Reflexion of radio particularity (essay), listening 2. Metamorphosis of message in radio media. Practicals: Reflexion of the problem of re-prezentation in radio media (essay), written excercise (short-form script). 3. Radio schedule, its composition. Contemporary radio programming in the Czech Republic and abroad. Practicals: listening, particular radio schedule analysis, production of the student's own radio show. 4. Radio genre, radio script. Practicals: Review of particular radio show. Discussion about students’ own radio show proposal. 5. Radio dramaturgy. Practicals: Presentation of the first versions of students‘ own scripts. 6. Finishing the course project, realization of the script. Discussion.
