Course objectives
The aim of the course: To acqauint students with logotherapeutic and existential-analytic approach to the client. They are teached the basic themes of logotherapy and existential analysis in the context of humanistic thinking and perspectives. In practical exercises students taste some experiences. At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand and be able to explain meaning of loss (or absence of meaning in the lives of clients and its originating of inability of social functioning) and to copy with owns problems in the personal and professional life.

  • Structure of course: 1. Introduction and organisatioonal issues 2. Intruduction to logotherapy and existential analysis. Embedding to the existential approaches in the philosophical thinking 3. Diagnostics in logotherapy and EA 4. Values and meaning of life 5. Selfvalue and meaning of life 6. Conscience and search for meaning 7. Work and search of meaning 8. Age and search for meaning 9. Crisis intervention in logotherapy 10. Love (family) 11. Logotherapeutic imagination 12. Existential analysis of dreams 13. Logotherapy and spiritual life 14. Feedback to the teacher

Teaching methods
Teaching consist of 14 weeks of teaching end exercises, f. e. playing roles, loosing cases. For a lecture students are preparing by reading and writing of reflexions.
Assessment methods
Credit: 80% of presence, active approach of the student to the lecture and 12 short reflexive essays.
