The course is intended for students of political science and other social science disciplines interested in the use of modern information technologies and research tools.

Course objectives
As political science becomes increasingly interdisciplinary, it is becoming increasingly important as well to use modern IT in it. The aim of the course is to introduce research approaches based on their use and to provide practical training for students to acquire the necessary skills to use these advanced technologies.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: orient themselves in the areas of social sciences in which information technologies are commonly used; assess the specific use of selected software and hardware tools in social science research; conduct their own research based on the use of selected software and hardware tools

Assessment methods
A prerequisite for credit is participation in at least 4 of the 5 lecture/teaching blocks and the final seminar with project presentations. The second requirement is to design, develop and present your own practical research project based on the selected tool presented during the course (see syllabus for details). A minimum of 50% marks is required for the project and its presentation.
