To be admitted to the German for Lawyers exam, the students are required to have completed a 4 semester course and acquired four credits.

  • Reguirements for the exam in German for Lawyers Written part: work on a piece of unknown specialized text with a dictionary a) reading comprehension questions b) translation of a part of the text into Czech, 5-8 lines c) reconstruction of an original specialized German text by substituting grammatical and stylistic items Oral part: a) assisted reproduction according to the topics given below b) terminology in the extent of 4 terms subject matter c) conversation on a given topic Topics for the controlled reproduction 1. State law and constitutional law a) Basic principles of democracy, its historical development and forms b) Fundamental rights - the rights of citizens, human rights, the right to liberty c) State authorities of Germany d) Legislative process 2. Administrative law - public service, principles, bodies 3. International law a) The United Nations b) Asylum procedure, migration in Germany c) The act on residence of aliens - residence permit d) UNHCR 4. European law a) The Council of Europe - its work and bodies b) The European Union - founding, EU bodies, free movement, free circulation of goods, services and capital, economic and monetary union c) The European Convention on Human Rights 5.
