Course objectives
The aim of the course is to expose the students to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral.
Syllabus
  • Topics for reading comprehension, assisted discussion and terminology 1. Introduction: programme of the course, literature, Masaryk University, Faculty of Law in Brno 2. Legal studies in Germany, the act on education of lawyers 3. Legal professions 4. Democracy - principles of the democractic form of the state 5. Democracy - historical development and forms 6. Fundamental rights - the rights of citizens, human rights, the right to liberty 7. The Constitution of Germany 8. The Constitution of Austria 9. The Constitution of Switzerland 10.State authorities of Germany - the Bundestag, the Bundesrat, Federal President, the Federal Government, the Federal Constitutional Court 11. Seminar work - work on the Constitution of Germany concerning the state authorities of Germany 12. Final test
