- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to improve students'soft skills in English and apply theoretical knowledge on solving case studies in marketing and business law.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will apply their theoretical knowledge on case studies and develop soft skills, in particular presentations, negotiations, solving conflicts and team work.
- Syllabus
- 1. Project presentation, presentation of a law office, professional web pages, marketing for lawyers. Presentation of improvements. Case study. 2. Principles of polite communication in English, basic theoretical concepts, 'face-threatening acts', principles of negotiation. 3. Visual style of a law office - presentation of proposals for improvements, teamwork. 4. Essential principles of solving conflicts. Simulations. 5. Case studies in law - business law. Language mediation. Dealing with an English-speaking client in a Czech environment and an explanation of concepts from Czech law. 6. Case studies in law - business law. Team presentation of a case and its solution.
