Course objectives
The aim of the course is to enable students to get deeper knowledge of Latin, focusing on the ability of interpreting Latin legal ictions, sayings and texts.
Syllabus
  • Past active system. Supinum and past passive system. Ablative absolute. Infinitive forms. M.Tullius Cicero: De legibus (reading and translating selected texts). Reading, translating and interpreting Gaius' Institutions. Reading, translating and interpreting selected texts from the Digest. Reading and translating Middle Ages texts and selected text from the Codex iuris canonici.

Assessment methods
Requirements: Active participation in class discussion, final written credit test - the translation of a coherent Latin text using the dictionnary (Students have to score more than 50%) and oral exam.
