Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand to the organization of justice in the Czech republic ant to those procedural rules, that are important for office workers. Students should learn proceedings according to the civil procedure code, the code of administrative justice and the code of criminal justice. The course places emphasis on european dimension of subject-matter.
Syllabus
  • 1. Procedural and substantive law. Their connection. Evolution of legal regulation in the Czech republic. Department of justice and its organization. 3. Justice and its role in the system of public power. System of courts in the Czech republic. Authority and competence. Role of judges and other employees of court. Inner organization of a court. 4. System of public prosecutor´s offices. Authority and competence. Role of public prosecutor and other employees. Inner organization of a public prosecutor´s office. 5. Legal professions. Advocacy, notary´s office, executors 6. Principles of procedural law. 7. Fundamental common institutes of a procedural law. 8. Specificity of a civil procedural law. 9. Specificity of a administrative justice. 10. Specificity of a criminal procedure. 11. Legal remedies and execution. 12. European judicial territory.

Teaching methods
The lectures run during the term. The attendance is not compulsory. Instruction uses modern methods – presentation of thesis, practical examples, interpretation of judicial practice and presentation of recommended literature.
