Course objectives
At the completion of the course, the students should have deep knowledge about the Constitutional Law of the European Union. They should understand its functioning from a comparative perspective of both international and domestic law. They should be able to demonstrate their ability to identify relevant sources of EU law as well as judgments of the Court of Justice and critically analyze and discuss them.
Learning outcomes
After this course students should be able: - To find sources of EU law
- To find the judgments of the Court of Justice
- To write a critical essay on a selected case of the Court of Justice - To describe the internal decision-making process in the European Union
- To apply the EU law
- To compare the approach of the Court of Justice and national constitutional courts to the relation of the domestic and EU law (principle of primacy)

  • The principle of Direct Effect of EU Law
  • The Principle of the Primacy of EU Law
  • Liability of Member States for Breach of EU Law
