Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the physiological and pathophysiological basis of diabetes mellitus forming a group of diseases of different etiology common denominator - hyperglycemia, disease conditional absolute lack of insulin or relative deficiency in its reduced efficiency. The student on the basis of acquired knowledge does not forget even psychological, educational and social aspects that directly relate primarily to the education of patients.
Syllabus
  • Practical training is focused on the education of the patient, his relatives, monitoring dietary regimen, providing FA with hypoglycemia, assessment of the interaction between injected insulin and food, build dietary regimen, given the type of applied insulin and physical exercise, education of his child patient education adolescent, adult education diabetic patient education of parents and family members, management support interview.
