Course objectives
The seminar provides basic knowledge on the items of French history and tries to put important historical events in broader connections. It discusses the events of the lecture. The students will master the French historical terminology. At the end of this course, students should be able to apply the acquiered knowledges and skills at the school.

  • 1. The Gauls in the view of Julius Caesar. 2. The Franks in the view of Chateaubriand. The Song on Roland. 3. 4. Hundred-year war and Joan the Arc. 5. Art, science and technical knowledge in Middle Ages. F. Villon. 6. Francois I and renaissance time. 7. Reformation and religious wars. 8. Versailles in the time of Louis XIV. 9. Louis XV and Louis XVI. 10. Great French Revolution 1789. National Convention.
