Course objectives
The goal of the course is to deepen and strenghten the knowledge about the evolution of the Russian literature in the 20th century and its evolution until nowadays. There is a particular focus on the turning points and the tendencies of evolution of the contemporary Russian literature.
Syllabus
  • 1. „The Silver Age“ of the Russian literature – its specifics and influence on the further evolution of the literature in the 20th century. 2. Tradition of „The Silver Age“ in the Neo-avant-garde in the end of the 20th century. Oberiuits and conceptualism. Neoakhmeism – B. Akhmadulina. 3. J. Brodski – personality and works. 4. Postmodern in the Russian poetry - Ven. Jerofejev, V. Sorokin, V. Pelevin 5. Rennaisance of the detective fiction. 6. Fantastics, utopia and anti-utopia in the contemproary Russian literature. The Strugash brothers, Boris Lukjanenko. 7. The influence of so-called „Third phase of the russian emigration“ on the Russian literature. A. Solzenicin, V. Vojnovich, V. Aksjonov, S. Dovlatov.
