Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to learn the history of French literature of the given period; to define mains elements of differentiate individual literary styles; to illustrate the theory by means of texts. At the end of this course, students should be able: to differentiate individual literary styles of the given period; categorise them chronologically; compare them reciprocally.
Syllabus
  • 1. Beginnings of French literature, medieval literature. 2. Specificity of renaissance and humanistic periods in France. 3. Literature of barocco. 4. Literature trends in the classicist period. 5. Periode of enlightenment. 6. Romanticism. 7. Realism. 8. Naturalism. 9. Symbolism. 10. Literature in the turn of 19th and 20th centuries.
