Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge and skills in the use and processing of technical materials - wood, plastics, metals and other materials (paper, natural materials), used in the teaching work at the first stage of primary schools. Technical materials, processing materials, hand tools.
Syllabus
  • 1. Paper, small items of equipment (production of paper types, processing, use, small-scale materials, natural materials - types, characteristics, treatment options, suggestions for practical work, creativity and the work of pupils with simple construction, work safety and hygiene, environmental education).
  • 2. Wood (forest as the source of wood, wood production, the cultivation of forests, logging, forest product lines of production, the biological nature of the creation of wood, the basic characteristics of wood, physical, mechanical and technological properties of wood, tools and instruments to work with wood, sawing production, durability of wood and means to increase the durability of wood).
  • 3. Plastics (nature and distribution of plastic material, favorable and unfavorable properties of plastics, knowledge of plastics, adhesives and glue, paints, problems with waste disposal, recycling, the use of materials in practical activities to first grade primary schools).
  • 4. Metals (ore - the basic raw material for the production of metals, fuels and fluxes, in the process of smelting and processing of high furnace pig iron, steel production, production of color and light metals, metal properties, methods of metal processing, metal processing in the production process, the importance of metal in the national economy ).
  • 5. Technical Graphics (the importance of technical drawing, drawing in the mission of understanding between technicians and workers, the types of technical elements and screening, basic imaging, types of lines, spot heights and dimensioning).
