Course objectives
Texts from the respective periods will be read and analysed. The are supposed to make the general information about the periods more specific.
Syllabus
  • Shorter literary works by the following authors will be read and discussed: Grimmelshausen, Gryphius (Barocklyrik), Lessing, Schiller, Goethe, Kleist, Tieck, ETA Hoffmann, Lyrik der Romantik, Grillparzer.

Assessment methods
To pass the course it is demanded to: - read all the short fiction in the reader - write an essay on one of the texts read - pass the written test at the end of the term.
