Course objectives
At the end of the course students will have information on: history of sociology, basic sociological termionology and paradigms, sociology of family, sociology of medicine, postmodern society.
Syllabus
  • 1. History of Sociology 2. Basic sociological paradigms 3. Basic sociological terminology (norm and deviation, inclusion, exclusion, function and dysfunction) 4. Family in sociology (function of family, nuclear and wider family, current family phenomena) 5. Sociology of medicine (pathology, social meaning of illness and disability) 6. Postmodern society and its theorists (Bauman, Beck, Giddens)
