Course objectives
Students will be able to define and explain the theoretical and methodological problems in studying some general interest and career counseling theory (Super, Holland, Roe). Understand and be able to explain the difficulties of pupils in career decision making. Demonstrate specific examples of pupils arising from the constraints of special educational needs of pupils in the choice of study and employment. Will learn to assess and make adjustments in decision-making processes of students. They will be able to analyze and identify risk factors and professional school failure among students with disabilities. They will learn to plan the strategy of choice for individual students in different stages of their professional orientation.

  • Career guidance and counseling assistance in deciding on the choice of educational and professional career
  • Correction of decision-making process in relation to students individual characteristics
  • Risk factors of academic and occupational failure among students with special needs in elementary and secondary school
  • Career advice for pupils with special educational needs
  • The choice of suitable school (the election of special or mainstream school)
