Course objectives
The course 'Practical language' is focused on the development of real-life communicative skills at advanced level by means of creative grammar work, personalized speaking tasks, lexis presented in context and realistic listening and reading. The main aim is to promote learning and achieve progress by focusing on personal engagement.At the end of the course students will be able to discuss their views of particular issues, present and defend their arguments and compare advantages and disadvantages, and summarize a problem.
Syllabus
  • The course is based on "Inside Out Upper Intermediate" and "Inside Out Advanced" coursebooks. This term Units 12-13 and 1-2 will be covered with equal attention paid to reading, speaking and listening skills. Additional work (grammar, listening, vocabulary work) will be incorporated where appropriate according to the students' needs. Topics:
