Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: (1) understand and explain the basic plant physiological processes; (2) understand the role of plant physiology in the botanical sciences; (3) interpret the diverse plant physiological functions; (4) aply basic methods and techniques in plant physiological research; (5) work with plant material.
Syllabus
  • This is a general course intended to introduce students to the major topics and concepts of Plant Physiology. 1. Metabolism of sacharids, amino-acids and proteins. Secundar substances of plant metabolism.

  • 5. Photosynthesis
  • 6. Respiration processes
  • 7. water and solute transport
  • 8. Heterotrophy
  • 9. Plant growth and progress

  • 11. Florescency, dormancy
  • 12. Plant movement
  • 13. Immunity and tolerance of plants to unfavourable environmental conditions
