Course objectives
Develop a reading skills, elementary speaking and writing, translation, and practicing proper pronunciation and intonation. The topics define both the monological and dialogical oral and writing skills. Exercises apply the practice of elementary speech skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The emphasis is given on mastering vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and intonation. Special focus is given the theme of how to analyse and describe the Russian accent correctly.

  • 1 - 2 Acquaintance, greetings. How imagine. Expressing incomprehension. 3 - 4 How are you? Invitation. Tying words in speech. 5 - 6 Agreement, rejection, negation. Sentences with interrogative words что, где, когда. Intonation of questions and answers. 7 - 8 First work, then fun. Daily program. The program for each day. 9 - 10 Summer vacation. Active and passive vacation. 11 - 12 Where are you from? Countries and nationalities. Repetition.

Teaching methods
Students work up homework and within an individual work they elaborate essays during the study. Students work individually and they also cooperate in group projects. They continuously read Russian texts.
