Prerequisites
Knowledge of priciples of socio-economical geography and basic methods of social-geographical research is assumed (statistical methods, cartographic methods, data analysis, etc.).

Course objectives
There is currently a worldwide economic, transportation and communication systems. Students should get basic information about these systems, their locational factors including changes in  time. The aim of the course is to practice the theoretical knowledge acquired during lectures on practical examples.
Learning outcomes
After a course the student will be able to:
- Use and on examples demonstrate knowledge of basic concepts of geography of trade, transport and tourism.
- Explain and use examples to demonstrate knowledge of the patterns of spatial distribution of trade on a local, regional and global levels and their evolution in time.
- Explain and use examples to demonstrate knowledge of the patterns of spatial distribution of traffic on the local, regional and global levels and their evolution over time. Describe geographic transport systems.
- Explain and demonstrate examples of their own surroundings - positive and negative impacts of development services, transport and tourism on the landscape.
- Use relevant data for analysis of services, transport and tourism development - locally and globally.
- Evaluate the formulation of expected outcomes in FEP in terms of geography of non-productive sector.
- Assess the content of textbooks, which relate to the thematic unit.

  • 4. Analysis of the morning transport rush.
  • 5. Intesity of traffic.
  • 6. Analysis of movements during the day.
  • 7. Analysis of destinations´ potential (group project).

  • Note: Individual exercises can be modified for the semester according to the current requirements of practice, the situation in the area faculty, in the town etc.

Teaching methods
Practical excercises - analysis and interpretation of data, the measurement and observation, creation of map outputs, questionnaire survey. Discussion. Group project.
Assessment methods
Excercises elaborated on time in appropriate quality, i.e. exercise contains all of the required input (deadline for submission is set when entering the workout and is also stored in the specification of exercise in the study materials in IS), active participation on seminars. If excercises are organised in blocks, 100% presence is required.
