Course objectives
The summer term covers units 2 and 3 in the textbook MITTELSTUFE DEUTSCH which are centered around the topics media and war and peace. During the semester students acquire communicative skills in these highly relevant topics which enables them to conduct a conversation with peers in German speaking countries. Important background information on everyday life in German speaking countries will be conveyed alongside. Acquaintance with the basic grammatical structures covered in unit 2 and 3 (conjunctive I and II, perfect and future tense, use of dative objects) is assumed. The class centers not on teaching how to build up these structures but how to use them in real communication.
