Course objectives
Students will be able to define the concept of family, its historical and cultural contingency. Understand its meaning and basic socio-psychological characteristics in different cultural environments. They will be able to analyze and specify different behaviors of pupils due to various educational approaches in its families. Will be able to analyze the educational strategies and psychological characteristics of a students family. They will be able to distinguish the impact of socio-economic levels in education.

  • The definition of the family, historical and cross-cultural family background
  • Basic socio-psychological characteristics of the family
  • Strategy of education in the family  
  • Family and socio-economic impact on the level of education and academic aspirations
  • Cultural specificities of families from different cultural backgrounds
