Course objectives
The objective of this subject is intensification knowledge of the Russian culture. The acquirement of the relation between the study of the language and realities and the national connotation of the word is important. The emphasis is placed on the reading and listening of the authentic texts trom Russian periodicals and art literature. The students theirselves look for in the ambit of the obligatory project for texts and publications about the Russian culture on the internet and different publications.
Syllabus
  • Emphasis is placed on the relationship between language study and the study of realities in   within the basic themes: 1. Russian mentality. Typical properties Russians. 2. Malířství.Ancient art: icons, frescoes, mosaics. 3. Development of art in Russia in     19th century. Painters of TPHV. Modern art movements of the 20th century. Museums of Russia. 4. The Russian music. Folklore, folk song, traditional musical instruments. 5. Classical music - developments, trends, schools. Modern musical directions at the beginning of the 20th century. 6. "Non-academic music" of the 20th century: Alexandrov Ensemble, mass song, song copyrights. Artists. 7. Theater in old Russia. Clowns, puppet theater, Balagan. 8. Development of Theatre   19th century. Russia's most famous theaters. Theater directors, actors and playwrights. 9. Ballet. Djagilevˇs Russian seasons. 10.Film. The Past and Present of Russian and Soviet film. 11.Ecology of Russia. 12.Czech - Russian relations.

Project – every student must hand in a project/presentation (in Russian) during his study. The topic can be chosen by the student according to his interests, but must be consulted beforehand.
