Course objectives
The course introduces the issues of analysis and creation of teaching material in professional education. Within the course, we will present the possibilities of working with teaching material for a professional audience. We will learn to find suitable teaching material and work with authentic material. We will show the benefits of analyzing discourse and written documents for the preparation of your own teaching material.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to:
- draw on various teaching resources;
- create their own teaching materials tailored to a professional audience;
- propose a suitable sequence of activities and create exercises, activities and tasks with regard to the set goals.

  • - Teaching material: presentation.
    - Internet resources and multimedia in professional language teaching.
    - Analysis of teaching material.
    - Exercises, activities, tasks. Typology of exercises and activities.
    - Analysis of discourse and written professional documents.
    - Teaching with authentic material.

Teaching methods
Teacher's presentation, discussion, document analysis, case studies, individual and group work.
Assessment methods
Active participation and submission of seminar assignments:
1. Teaching of selected audiovisual authentic material (group work):
- selection of several target groups of potential audience with clarification of selection criteria;
- selection of one target group and specification of learning objectives;
- teaching with the selected material: creation of a teaching plan (one teaching unit).
2. Creation of a learning module (individual work):
- drawing up a program for 10 hours of teaching based on the material from the first task and additional supplementary material of your own choice (table + appendices and comments).
