Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
Course objectives
This course is a continuation of lexical and stylistic exercises I (CJQB02). The content of the seminar is following:- lexical and stylistic exercises (for example synonymy, homonymy, antonyms) – active usage of vocabulary from given conversational topics, - interpretation of text (that was heard and read) – essays on given topics. The aim of the course is to develop and practice Czech vocabulary and improve students’ knowledge and communications skills.
Syllabus
  • Students’ knowledge and information obtained in CJQB02 will be practiced and improved during the seminars. 1/ During the work with texts the focus is put not only on lexical part, but also on stylistic stratification of the literary Czech language and non-literary forms (imaginative literature) and terminology (special texts). 2/ Phraseology – fixed phrases and metaphorical meaning; comparisons; proverbs; fixed phrases with substantives and adjectives; connections of verbs and substantives; fixed phrases; big and small measure; synonymy and antonyms.

Teaching methods
Theoretical explanations during the course will be supplemented by practical exercises. Students will work with a text and write essays on given topics.
Assessment methods
There will be colloquium (final written test) in the end of the term. Attendance: at least 75%.
