Course objectives
After finishing the course students:
- orientate themselves in issues concerning literary studies and literary science;
- are familiar with the most important sources of information essential for literary scientific research;
- are able to work with bibliographic tools and literary scientific reference books;
- acquire rules of working with scientific texts;
- acquire practical skills of creating scientific texts.
The intention of course is a presentation of the literary science study and introduction to the basic concepts and information, needed to practice the profession. In the course will take a part also a presentation of the libraries, bibliographies, magazines, work books, older and contemporary dictionaries; also will take a part the survey of personalities, who are representative for the discipline, as well as recommendation how to structure own scientific text. The course has an instrumental character, it also leads students to the acquirement of the practical skills. Students will us these skills and they will develop them in their further education. In general terms, the course will also simplify the orientation in the contemporary "Age of information".

Teaching methods
Methods of presentation, application, interpretation and discussion are used in the seminar. Students present their knowledge and skills in oral and written form.
Assessment methods
For obtaining a credit students have to write an essay; the course is concluded by a written test which also includes topics from the parallel lecture.
