Course objectives
The content of this seminary will be the interpretation of selected Czech works of Old Czech Literature, include explication and discussions. The texts are chosen according to both develompent of the literature in the Middle-Ages, Humanism and Baroque and the diversity of the genres in the old Czech literature. Most of the texts have been selected according to the list of primary literature. So the seminar is suitable addition to preparation for Disscusion about Old Czech Literature. At the end of this course the students will be able to:
- to widen the knowledge of the old Czech literature;
- to deepen the knowledge of both primary sources and scientific literature;
- to be able to analyse the texts of the old Czech literature on basis of the contemporary ethical and social standards;
- to be able to apply the gained knowledge in the writing a scientific text.

Teaching methods
Work with texts (with the use of analytical-synthetic method) is emphasized in seminars. Interpretation of texts are realized as collective tasks in seminars.
Assessment methods
Credits are obtained on the basis of active work in seminars and students have to write short texts about books from the reading list.
