Course objectives
The student will know the Italian Renaissance literature, will be able to analyze a short Italian texts.
Syllabus
  • Italian Renaissance poetry: Petrarca, Poliziano, Lorenzo il Magnifico, Boiardo, Sannazaro, Buonarroti, Giovanni Della Casa, Vittoria Colonna, Gaspara Stampa. Prose: Machiavelli, Guicciardini, Bembo, Castiglione. Theatre: Machiavelli, Guicciardini, Bembo, Castiglione. Chivalrous epic: Pulci, Boiardo, Ariosto.
