Course objectives
The crourse introduce with basic characteristic of populations and processes which ifluence their growth or decline. We focus on development of population at the territory of Czech republic. We take into account consequence and ralation demographic processes on educational and social policy. Students develop competences to get, work up and analyze statistic and demographic data from public sources.
Syllabus
  • 1. Demografphy, demographic proceses and phenomenon; public demographic data and their structure
  • 2. Czech population and its spatial distribution, settlements.
  • 3. Structure of czech population: age, gender, education, families, social structure, economic activity
  • 4. Structure of czech population: religion, etnic structure, healt conditions, households
  • 5. Mortality - situation, causes, self-destructiveness; Natality - situation, fertility, abortions, bilance of populations
  • 6. Marriage and divorces; projections of population
  • 7. Demographic trends in worls population.
