Course objectives
The course is taught in Modern Greek. The main aims of the course are: developing basic communicative abilities in Modern Greek, practice of topics dealt with in Modern Greek Grammar I (lessons 1-9 of the Basics of Modern Greek). At the end of the course, students will be able to communicate in Modern Greek simply but actively. They will be capable of producing a short text concerning discussed topics. They will be capable of reading and understanding simple Modern Greek texts which deal with the discussed topics.
Syllabus
  • Conversation topics: first conversation, study of Greek, life in the city, family and home, shopping, colours, human body, clothing, seasons of the year, telling the time, railway station, tourism, police station.
  • Orthography practice.
  • E-learning - grammar and vocabulary tests.
