Course objectives
The main purpouse is to encrease and to deepen the competences of the participants in the foreign language and to apply the lingvistic competences in the work with a specialized text.
1) The knowledges of the specialized psychologic terms in the foreign language.
2) The understanding the coherent text in the foreign language.
3) The application of specialized terms and the capacity to produce coherent ideas in the foreign language.
4) The analysis of the specialized text in the foreign language.
5) The synthesis of own ideas in the foreign language and in the specific specialization.
6) The evaluation – the capacity to formulate a critical commentary of a specialized theme.
Syllabus
  • The work with specialized text – lecture with commentary and discussion over the termonological and linguistic phenomenons in the text. A component of the course is also the conversation – oral presentation of the psychologic themes. The synopsis of the themes according to the weeks of the courses:
  • 1) the history of psychology
  • 2) developmental psychology
  • 3) social psychology
  • 4) psychology of the personality
  • 5) psychology of the work and organisation
  • 6) pedagogical psychology
  • 7) neuropsychology
  • 8-12) psychotherapy – particular psychotherapeutic disciplines

Teaching methods
The dominant method of the training is the lecture of specialized texts concerning the particular psychological disciplines, the commentary of the lexical, gramatical and terminological phenonemons and further some exercises of grammar, lexicon and conversation. The emphasis is based on the understanding and the precise formulation of the specialized phenomenon.
Assessment methods
The evaluation is based on a regular attendance, active work during the courses and the elaboration of the required written material.
