Course objectives
Main objectives of the seminary:
- specification and clarification of the term fantastic literature;
- mastering the fundamentals of the history and development of fantastic literature in the world and in the Czech context;
- getting an idea of how fantasy reflects the problems of the contemporary world;
- understanding the position of fantastic literature in Czech culture.
- introduction to the work of prominent authors.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to: - Interpret fantastic texts in relation to their historical context;
- Identify key points in the development of fantastic literature in the world and in Czech context;
- Interpret the development of characteristic motifs in fantastic literature;
- Carry out a diachronic analysis of the methods of fantastic literature.
