Course objectives
Student should be able to speak on any general issue from contemporary France and culture from the beginning of the 2nd world war to the present.
Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
to understand and explain the most important notions from the contemporary France;
to recognize and explain the basic dates and names of french history and place them in french and european historical context
Student should be able also to read and understand a short document in french, to identify the author and the persons. He should be able also to say the importance of the document.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- identify and summarize important features of French history in the 2nd half of the 20th century;
- identify and describe the largest contemporary French political parties, economic trends and social transformations over the last 50 years;
- Analyze the current French press.
