The students should be able to understand, translate from Latin to Czech and comment on passages selected for reading.
Syllabus
  • Reading Vergil is not a course regularly taught during the semester. Students gain credit for independent reading of selected passages from Vergil (Aeneis I, II, IV, VI; Bucolica I, IV; Georgica I 1-5, II 458-474).

Assessment methods
The knowledge of Vergil's work is tested by translating, metric analysis and commenting on selected passages from the reading list. It is possible to gain the credit outside the exam period (after agreement with the teacher).
