Course objectives
The course is aimed at the analysis of the character and structure of European foreign politics in the 19th century. The students should be able to understand the character of power, conflicts, interests and peace efforts of European states from 1814 (Vienna Congress) to World War I. They should be able to understand the character of European development, which differed considerably from that of non-European regions, and discuss the causes of the decline of traditional European politics at the beginning of the 20th century.
