Course objectives
Předmět poskytuje základní orientaci v historické, teoretické a praktické problematice zápisu vícehlasého hudebního projevu v období 13. - 16. století. Klade důraz na znalost jeho historie a systematiky a vytváří předpoklady pro praktickou schopnost identifikace a transkripce základních typů notačních systémů tohoto období.
Syllabus
  • The subject is made up by following four thematic spheres: 1) Pre-Franconian and Franconian Notation. 2) French Notation. 3) White Mensural Notation. 4) Critic of Musical Script. Detailed syllabus and indvidual thematic units and a list of corresponding literature in in IS MU (pleas see the Study materials of the subject VHK_11b).
Teaching methods
Class (1,5 hours per month); within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered group learning activities will be employed.
Assessment methods
The course is ended by an written and oral examen, success of which is based on: 1) Reliable knowledge of problems of historical development of notation within the historical stages given byl the syllabus and lectures. 2) Reliable knowledge of principles of the studied notation systems and their transcription. 3) Reliable knowledge of basic literature on the subject. 4) Satisfactory fulfilment of the given seminar task. 5) Succesful result of the exam test.
