Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide basic orientation in both theoretical and practical problems of hymnology and to create the qualification for analytical and critical work with hymnological sources.
Syllabus
  • The subject of the course is made up by the following thematic spheres: 1) Bibliography- source of informations and analytical implement of the hymnological research. 2) Cataloging - theoretical and practical problem of the hymnological research. 3) The elaboration of the historical source - Louny Hymnbook from 1608. Detailled syllabus and individual thematic units and a list of corresponding literature is in IS MU (please see the Study materials of VH_728b)
Teaching methods
Class (1,5 hours per week); within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities will be employed.
Assessment methods
The course is ended by a credential interview, succes of which is based on: 1) Reliable knowledge of historical and theoretical problems of hymnology given by the syllabus and lectures. 2) Reliable working of the task.
