Course objectives
Leisure Time Pedagogy Pedagogy of leisure time will offer information about problems and content of free time activities in its historical and present context. It will consist of function of after school education, bringing up and educational activities in a present time and of different leisure time facilities in both Czech and international context. Koncept of animation as a prevention of social ; patological phenomenons. Students should also get a view of existention and working of leisure centre facilities in their localities.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to understand the basic terms in the field of educational concept of leisure time activities (studying the primary resources), - they will be able to project concepts using the distinctive features of methods (games and plays).
Syllabus
  • Human, society and education in free time. Conception and function of free time.
  • Typology of free time activities in relationship with age, gender, education, locality and other variables.
  • Free time activities, classification, significance, methodes and forms of work.
  • Origin and significance of organized activity in free time (YMCA, YWCA, Sokol, scouting, League of Forest Wisdom, Czech Capming Union etc.).
  • Definition of games and their atributes, educational significance of games. Theories of games, their segmentation. History of games, metamorphosis of functions, motives, attitudes and aims of games in single develop ethapes of pedagogic. How to create and change the games. Danger of gambling (so-called gamblers games).
  • Associations and organisations caring for freetime education in the Czech Republic.
  • Overview of associations and organisations caring for freetime education in chosen European countries.
  • Legal rules, laws, ordinances and norms for work with children and youth and for organising various actions.
