Course objectives
The course deals with the variation of Italian language connected to the different situational contexts. Particular attention will be dedicated to the multimodality of communication, to the conversational principles, to artistic communication.
Learning outcomes
The student will deepen theoretical and practical aspects of the pragmalinguistics; he/she will be able to recognise and use the different types of languages in accordance with the different interational situations. The student will also learn to summarize the information coming from different sources, to develop critical sense, to communicate effectively, to work in group, to develop ideas and develop projects.
Syllabus
  • The course will be developed on the following topics: - the social variation of Italian; - linguistic acts; - pragmalinguistic features of Italian (space, temporal and personal deixis, allocution, textual strategies for the representation of space and time); - discourse markers; - Italian language and the conversational maxims - artistic communication.

Teaching methods
Lecture and practical activities: explanation of the basic notions and problems and their application on appropriate linguistic and multimedial material. Attendance is required.
