Course objectives
Title of the course: The Metamorphosis of Modernism in Space of Japanese poetry
The aim of this course is to provide a coherent overview of the evolution of Modernism in Modern Japanese Poetry. At the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of the evolution of modernist poetry and movements in Japan and should be able to view Modernism in the broader context of free-verse poetry as well as in the context of Modern Japanese literature.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course the student will be able to:
- describe trends in the evolution of modern Japanese poetry;
- identify the main features of surrealism and its manifestations in the Japanese literary production;
- characterize main authors of modernist styles in the Japanese poetic production
