Course objectives
The aim of the course is that the student gains awareness of the professional practice of an archaeologist carried out during the rescue archaeological research (RAR); that the student actively participates in archaeological practice that is not included in the compulsory courses of the curriculum of the Bachelor’s degree.
Learning outcomes
After completing the RAR practice, the student will be able to carry out basic excavation and documentation techniques in field research: (photo documentation, drawing documentation, work with the total station, documentation forms), as well as basic laboratory processing (cleaning of finds, recording).
Syllabus
  • Active participation in archaeological rescue research - compulsory: 120 hours worked
Teaching methods
Practical activity on archaeological sites and in the laboratory
Assessment methods
Official confirmation of participation in the RAR; a confirmation of the 120 hours worked will be issued by the site director (employee of an organization authorized to carry out archaeological excavations)
