Course objectives
The course deals with the relatively young branch of earth sciences - with experimental geochemistry. There are discussed all aspects of geochemical laboratory experiments under ambient conditions, the rock-water interactions especially. It focuses on the preparation of mineral phases and solutions, on reactors, experimental arrangement and construction components. All types of reactors are mathematically analyzed. The basic processes progressing in reactors are modeled. In addition, field experiments and some laboratory experiments under extremely conditions are discussed theoretically. Students are familiarized with experimental instrumentation in geochemical laboratory.
