Course objectives
In the seminar the knowledge and understanding of separate units covered in general chemistry lectures are insreased by solving problems. In addition, nomenclature of inorganic compounds, writing chemical equations, and stoichiometric calculations are revised.
Syllabus

    2. Nomenclature of inorganic compounds (2nd part), concentration units (1st part), mass fraction, volume fraction, cross rule, mixing and diluting equations.

    3. Concentration units (2nd part), molarity, molality, molar fraction.

    4. Fundamental chemical laws, expression of mass in chemistry, stoichiometric formula.

    5. Chemical equations and stoichiometric calculations.

    6. Atom structure, atomic nucleus, radioactivity, electron shell of atom, periodic law.

    7. Basic knowledge on chemical bond, molecular diagram of homo- and heteronuclear biatomic molecules, VSEPR method.
