Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Introduction to subject of mathematical biology, generally as well as according to focus of study. Introduction to selected topics of the field, based both on the fundamentals of their theory and on giving an explanation of some historical events and consequences.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses and to study plans of the study branch. 2. Mathematics, biology, mathematical biology, biomathematics. 3. Story of J.G.Mendel. Experiment arrangement, hypothesis, evaluation of results, biostatistics. 4. Mathematical models for demography. Malthus, Euler, Quetelet, Lotka - Voltera. 5. Epidemiological models. Survival analysis. 6. Models of pharmacokinetics.
