Course objectives
Students understand principles of selected diagnostic method for being possible to use them in their work. Next, students understand properties of modern grating spectrometers and detectors used for optical emission and absorbtion spectroscopy, they obtain bases of laser spectroscopy, spectroscopy by means of Fabry - Perot interferometry and other usefull methods.
Syllabus
  • Modern grating spectrometers, basic detectors for optical emission spectroscopy
  • Fabry - Perot interferometer
  • Atomic absorption spectrometry
  • Laser spectroscopy, laser atomizers in AS, laser fluorescence, long distance exploration
  • A/D and D/A converters, digital storage oscilloscopes
  • Hooks methods in plasma diagnostics, holography, schlieren methods in plasma physics
  • Nondestructive testing - acoustic emission, FFT, wavelet transformation, noise filtering
  • Characterization of surfaces by microscopic techniques - review of different methods
