Course objectives
Charge and matter. Coulomb's law. The electric field. Gauss's law. Electric potential. Capacitors and dielectrics. Current and resistance. Electromotiv force and circuits. The magnetic field and its applications. Ampére's law. The Biot - Savart law. Faraday's law. Inductance. Electromagnetic oscilations. Maxwell's equations. Magnetic properties of matter. Alternating currents. Measurement of electric quantities. The bacic semiconductor devices. Nature and propagation of light. Elecrtomagnetic waves. Fermat's principle. Geometrical optics. Spherical mirrors and thin lenses. Interference. Diffraction.
