There is important to have a knowledge of mineralogy and petrography, basic minerogenetic and petrologic processes, structure of the Earth and the Earth crust, plate tectonics, deformation in the Earth crust and fundamentals of stratigraphy and geochemistry. There is essential to know and understand topics of the course of Economic Geology I.

Course objectives
Mineral processes are explaned for all genetic types of deposits. Their geotectonic position, geological structure of deposits, element and mineral assemblage, basic practical and economic importance of raw material, examples of deposits in Czech republic and in the world are presented.
